Bingley has signed a four-week contract but United officials are hopeful of making it a permanent deal.
The former A-League winner with Sydney FC in 2006 has joined the peninsula club from Newcastle Premier League team Hamilton Olympic.
?I was looking for an opportunity to play in Sydney and Manly was the natural first choice,? Bingley said.
?Swanny (Brad Swancott) and Scotty (Thomas) commute from Newcastle already which makes it easier for me.
?Manly?s a strong club and look like a squad on the rise and I?m excited to be a part of it.?
The addition of Bingley, who scored five times in 14 appearances for the Socceroos, comes at a perfect time for United with a host of defenders unavailable.
United coach Phil Moss said the addition of Bingley shows the peninsula club is serious about winning the championship this season.
