Tiger Turf Cup Preliminary Round set for kick off

Due to the popularity of this year?s Tiger Turf Cup a Preliminary Round was put forward with the winners going onto round 1 of the prestigious Cup competition.
Wednesday?s program has a number of highly anticipated matches with a number of Association clubs and State League Two?s side set to take on each other at respective grounds.
Bensons Lane will play host to two Tiger Turf Cup Preliminary rounds with the first being State League two outfit Hawkesbury City taking on Eastern Suburbs Association outfit Locomotiv Cove which will commence at 8.30pm. The ambitious Cove outfit coached by former Bankstown City Lions assistant Chris Karatzis has pooled together a number of former State League stars but have two familiar faces in its stable that will be appearing on Wednesday. One being former Sydney Olympic striker Derek Poimer and the other being former Queensland Roar skipper Chad Gibson.
There will be an all State League Two encounter at 6.30pm at the same pitch when the Gladesville Ryde Magic take on the Colo Colo Wanderers.
Granville based Association side Baulkham Hills take on last season?s State League Two finalists Camden Tigers at Ted Howard Reserve with kick off set for 7.30pm.
Hajduk Stadium will play host to the clash between State League Two side Fairfield Bulls and Granville Association side Toongabbie Jnr at 7.30pm.
Southern Districts Association side Fairfield Hot Spurs tackle State League two side Gazy Lansvale at Smithfield Park at 7.30pm while there will be an interesting association encounter between Gladesville?s North Epping and Sutherland Shire?s Gymea United at Christie Park at 7.30pm.
State League Two side Prospect United take on Granville association outfit Ariana at William Lawson Reserve at 8.30pm while at the same pitch another fascinating State League Two encounter has pitted Luddenham United taking on Hakoah at 6.30pm.
The winners of the preliminary round will join Bankstown Sports, Brookvale SC, Collaroy Cromer Stikers, Eastwood St Andrews, Kellyville, Kenthurst District , Pacific Hills/ Dural, Riverstone Schofields, Roosters FC, Seaforth FC, White City, Yagoona Lions, Albion Park, Bakhtar Glory, Kograh Waratah SFC, Dee Why, Penang FC, STFA Strikers, Hurstville City Minoaturs, Springwood, Marton SC, Sans Souci, Bathurst 75 and Port Kembla in Round 1 now scheduled for Wednesday April 8th 2009.
