HAKOAH AND PROSPECT SHARE THE SPOILS
Hakoah and Prospect United played out a 2-2 draw at E.S Marks Field on Sunday afternoon.
The home side took full advantage in the first 10? minutes with some good quality possession and control in the midfield. However, despite the home side?s possession, Prospect United had intentions on claiming all three points against the home-side.
Both sides were sharing possession midway through the first-half until the 21? minute when Hakoah?s J. Mundoll latched onto the ball in what was a scramble inside the 18-yard box. Prospect United continued to play well even when they were down a goal; Robbie Portelli and A. David were creating some quality play placing pressure on the home-side?s defence.
Despite both teams playing well it was the home-side who struck again, this time it was an ideal low cross from the right-flank by J. Aschner finding J. Mundoll in the middle to slot his second goal for the day in the 41? minute.
The game was heading in the home-side?s favour until Prospect United scored a sensational goal with Pasqual Landrelli connecting to a fine cross from the left-flank in stoppage time at the end of the first period. Hakoah went into the break leading 2-1.
The second-half was played out in the same way with both sides enjoying their equal amount of possession. Stjephan Puljic and A. David from Prospect United were linking up really well down the right side causing some issues for the Hakoah defence.
However, Hakoah bounced back and were handed control of the game with some real good chances nearly closing the game. Hakoah captain John Pillemener struck a sensational free-kick from the left side curling the ball with great depth on the attempt however Prospect goalkeeper Owen Rogers made a spectacular save.
John Pillemener was the stand out for the home side causing problems down the left hand side. Hakoah forward D. Pozniak was linking up with his captain causing the Prospect side much concern. Prospect inform defender Jason Lewis played again a solid game despite the home sides pressure.
The best chance for Hakoah to close out the game came in the 59? minute when a cross came in from the left connecting to Pozniak?s header hitting the crossbar and falling onto the line, however the ball didn?t cross the whole line.
John Pillemener could have put the game away in the 65? minute when his thundering shot was well struck however, again as he did last week against Penang FC, Owen Rogers made a sensational save.
The away side was beginning to gain momentum down their side of the field and it paid off in the 69? minute when a Hakoah handball gave Prospect United a penalty. Prospect forward Robbie Portelli nicely slotted it into the goal to give his side a share of the spoils, the game ending in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Prospect United coach Brian Vella was pleased with the point especially after finding themselves two goals down at one stage:
?I am delighted with the point today; despite our flat start to the game I thought we improved throughout the game.
?I think we were a lot better today then last week, we had much more control in our passing game and our movement, were starting to play some better football.?

Round Two Review
Gladesville Ryde Magic v Bathurst 75
Gladesville claimed all three points with a 4-0 home win over Bathurst at Magdala Park on Sunday afternoon.
Gladesville?s in-form player Kabara scored twice, once in each half, along with goals from Adam Gatt and Kianov in the second-half to secure three points.
Gladesville coach George Ganiastas was really delighted with the win after his side picked up a point against Hurstville last week. ?I thought we were a lot better this week, especially in the second-half we dominated the game and deserved to win at the end?
All other listed games were postponed due to poor conditions.
