Multicultural Women Sports Leadership Program 2009
The Multicultural Women?s Sport Leaders Program aims to develop and extend the skills, knowledge and networks of women in leadership and decision-making roles in sport and recreation, with a view to:
- Improving opportunities for advancement of multicultural women in their sport or community organisation
- Improving sport and recreation opportunities in the community, particularly for women and girls.
The program provides comprehensive training for women who would like to become more involved in local sporting clubs or community organisations which focus on sport and physical activity. Training topic areas will include :
- Leadership skills
- Communication and presentation skills
- Goals, plans and priorities
- Conducting meetings.
The program is not pass or fail and there are no assessments. To successfully complete the program, candidates need to attend all sessions. If you are accepted into the program all program costs associated will be covered. Places in the program are limited.
The 2009 program will be held on Friday 24, Saturday 25 and Saturday 31 October. The program will run from 9am to 5pm each day at Sydney Olympic Park.

Who is eligible to apply?
Women who are:
- Of a multicultural background
- Aged 18 years and over on 18 September, 2009
- Permanent residents of NSW
- Currently involved as a volunteer or paid employee in a sporting club or community organisation which has a focus on sport, recreation and physical activity.
- Dates: Friday 24, Saturday 25 and Saturday 31 October 2009.
- Venue: NSW Sport and Recreation, 6B Figtree Drive, Sydney Olympic Park
- Contact person: Complete the Expression of Interest form and return it by Friday 18 September, 2009.
