2009 Football NSW Futsal State Schools championships Review and Results

The Futsal School State Championships had the winner and runners up from all thirteen Regional championships come together and play off for a chance to represent NSW at 2009 National Schools Futsal Championships to be held in late September.
Tuesday was a massive day of Futsal action with 68 teams taking part the first games kicked off a 8am with 12 boys action and concluded at 6:30pm with the grand finals.
In the 10 Girls both Clovelly PS and Holy Cross Kincumber made the grand final after hard fought semi final victories. In the final Clovelly PS ran out convincing winner over the hard working Holy Cross Kincumber side by the score line of 4-0.
The 10 Boys there was some close Futsal action all day but Balgownie PS were very impressive on their way to a 4-0 victory over King Park PS in the grand final.
In the 12 Girls Green Valley PS got to the final with an solid 6-1 victory over St. Johns Park PS in the semi. While Clovelly PS was made to work much harder as they overcame Hills Grammar 3-2. In the Final Green Valley PS took the spoils with a 3-1 victory.
The 12 Boys Kings Park PS booked their way to the final with an impressive 6-3 victory over All Saints Grammar. Illawarra Grammar was also devastating in their 6-1 romp over Balgownie PS. The final was a tense affair with both sides having a number of chances to win. Illawarra Grammar ran out 3-2 victors over Kings Park PS.
Wednesday saw the high schools take part at the state championships and the under 14 boys & girls were on show.
In the 14 girls Bossley Park HS played some great Futsal and their semi final was a blockbuster with Kellyville HS which they won 1-0. Illawarra Sports HS also had a tough semi final and they accounted for Marist Sisters 2-1. The Final was all Illawarra Sports HS as they ran out convincing 7-1 victory over a gallant Bossley Park HS side.
The 14 Boys both Sule College and St Spyridon were made to work very hard in their respective semi final matches and they both scraped through by the odd goal. In the final this was a classic with both sides playing some tremendous Futsal. Sule College scored in the dying minutes to take victory with a 5-4 result.
Thursday was the 16 Boys & Girls to show their wears and this competition for both the boys and the girls was highly competitive.
In the 16 Girls both semi finals were hotly contested with Pymble Ladies College accounting for Cecil Hills HS 2-1 in semi final number one. While Bossley Park HS survived a dreaded penalty shootout after their match with Elderslie HS couldn?t be decided after extra time.  In the Final Pymble Ladies College were too strong and took out the final with a 4-1 victory.
In the 16 Boys from the quarters through to the semi finals all teams were made to work hard and produce good Futsal if they were to proceed to the grand final. Endeavour Sports HS made their way to the final care of a 2-1 victory over Liverpool Boys. Cecil Hills HS were pushed all the way in the other semi final by East Hills Boys; Cecil Hills won 3-2. The Final was end to end with Endeavour Sports HS looking like cruising to a 4-2 victory; however Cecil Hills scored 2 goals in 2 minutes with the last coming with the last kick of the game. In extra time Cecil Hills scored the winner via free kick to wrap up a remarkable comeback.
Due to the Trial HSC the under 19 Boys & Girls event has been postponed until Monday 7th September 2009
