The Russian team attack the Australians from the very kickoff but a determined Australian side held them at bay.
It wasn?t until half way through the first half that some excellent build up work by the Russians made a opening for them and they finished superbly.  The Australian team tried to push forward but the Russians caught them on the counter attack to make the score 2-0.
With only minutes left on the clock before half time the Russian attack split the Australian defence and get passed the diving Sam Larkings to make the score 3-0.  This was also the half time score.
The second half saw much of the same as the first half  but in the 4th minute the Australian team pressed the Russian team causing them to make probably the their first mistake of the game and concede an own goal.  This made the score 3-1 to Russia.
Late in the second half the experience of the Russian team broke down the Australian defence on two more occasions to make the eventual score Russia 5- Australia 1.
