A number of familiar faces from the last NSW Premier League campaign have once again re-signed for 2010 with the likes of midfield whiz Alex Canak, Chris Nunes, Matthew Gordon, Adel Eljamal, James Chronopoulos, Eric Anabalon, Ivory Coast import Ousmane Toure, Daniel Ott and club captain Nahuel Arrarte all agreeing to terms for the new year.
Promising youngster Brenton Rhodes has been rewarded for what was an outstanding year for the Grade 20?s Marconi player and won himself a senior contract with the Fairfield based club.
Two new faces will grace the plush surface of Marconi Stadium next year and they are ex-Sutherland Sharks high flyer Matthew Hall and Spanish goalkeeper Jose Bello Amigo.
Hall has come to the Stallions for some much needed game time after the former Sydney FC Under 20?s attacker was used more as a substitute in Sutherland Sharks? Championship winning season in 2009. Hall?s pace and willingness to compete for every ball will surely be an asset to Sterrey and his squad.
Bello Amigo has once again returned to Australia after the custodian spent almost nine years playing abroad professionally in the lower leagues of Spain.
The 31-year-old played for the likes of St George, A.P.I.A.-Leichhardt Tigers, Sydney Olympic and Canterbury-Marrickville before moving abroad to his native country Spain in 2001 where he linked up with Racing Ferrol.
Bello Amigo then went on to play for Poli Ejido and the finally in the Spanish Segunda Division B with Jerez Industrial CF before announcing his return to Australia where the Stallions snapped the crafty keeper for the new season.
Having played once in a NSW State team in his younger years that boasted the likes of Socceroos stars Harry Kewell and Brett Emerton, Bello Amigo was certainly seen as one keeper that slipped under the radar and went quietly on with his business which saw him play against some of the best teams in Spain.
Along with these two new recruits, the Stallions are also in talks with two African players that could also make Marconi their new home.
