Football NSW Futsal announces partnership with the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence
Football NSW staff along with Futsal Ambassador for NCIE, Futsalroo captain Lachlan Wright and rising young indigenous star Daniel Fogerty will be conducting coaching clinics for children with the aim to introduce the sport of Futsal to the indigenous community.
Football NSW?s General Manager Mr. Ian Holmes and (acting) Futsal Manager Mr. Damian Briggs were invited to tour the facility prior to Christmas and were overwhelmed by the NCIE complex.
The centre offers: an Indoor Sports Stadium (2 Futsal Courts or 1 International Futsal court), Fitness Centre, Activity Rooms, 25m Heated Pool, Sports Field, Computer Room, Childcare facilities.
As well as providing the sporting complex NCIE also provides: Over 100 bed accommodation, 4-8 guests per room, Ensuite bathrooms, Large dining hall, Activity Rooms, Conference Room, Safe and secure precinct, Environmentally sustainable design.
NCIE Sports and Competitions Coordinator William Gordon was delighted with the exciting partnership with Football NSW in developing and increasing skills for all of the community at Redfern.
?In the heart of Redfern, the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence will house state of the art sporting facilities for all of the community. NCIE Sports Clinics will give young people the opportunity to engage in their favourite sports with positive role models and expert coaches.
?Our clinics will allow participants to develop and increase their skills in a fun and supportive environment,? Gordon ended.
The National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) is cultivating talent and creating opportunities to develop brighter futures for young Indigenous people.
Futsal is a sport NCIE is a sport very keen to be to develop amongst the Indigenous community. FNSW is looking forward to a successful partnership with NCIE.
Football NSW will be one of a few sporting bodies (AFL, NRL, and Cricket Australia to name a few) that will be working with NCIE and YMCA to developing sport within the Indigenous community across Australia.
