Official: Manchester United Premier Cup Draw Announced
The draw outlines three (3) days of intense competition across the weekend of February 19th/20th/21st, with places in the knockout stage of the preliminary qualification round established by Saturday evening (February 20th).
Knockout football presumes on Sunday (February 21st) where a NSW regional qualifier will be confirmed and invited to attend the Australian play-offs held in Melbourne, April 2010.
The winner of the Australian play-off will then be pitted against the best team from New Zealand for the Oceania Championship and the opportunity to participate in the finals of the Manchester United Premier Cup to be held in England.
The MUPC gives talented U/15s the chance to show off their skills and come up against other young footballers from around the globe. They get to play on an international stage and meet and compete with the best of their class.
The MUPC gives Europe first glance at some of the world?s most promising footballing talent at U/15 level, with the likes of Robinho (Santos ? 1999), Carlos Tevez (Boca Juniors ? 1999, MVP & Top Scorer), Fernando Torres (Atletico de Madrid ? 1999, MVP), Cesc Fabregas (FC Barcelona ? 2002), Rafael & Fabio Da Silva (Fluminense, 2005) and Andres Iniesta (FC Barcelona, 1999); plus many more, all participating in the tournament in previous years.
