The upgrade will see Jensen Park?s kiosk, change rooms and toilets given a fresh new look which will please the thousands of football players playing and training at the venue every week.
Under the grant conditions, Bankstown Council have stated that they will match the amount given towards Jensen Park to ensure all the planned works can be completed.
The funding comes as part of the NSW Government?s $35 million Community Building Partnership program.
Bankstown City FC?s Club Secretary Mendo Petkovski was delighted with the upgrade which would ensure Jensen Park being up to scratch with Football NSW?s requirements with venues.
?On behalf of the committee of Bankstown City FC we would like to thank Barbara Perry and Bankstown Council for securing the grant.
?It will truly make a difference to the aging facility at Jensen Park.
?As Bankstown City FC is a major stake holder at Jensen Park, and the only NSW Premier League club in the district representing Bankstown at the highest level, Bankstown City FC will offer to match the grant and council contribution to an equivalent value.
?This will go a long way in ensuring that the ground will be brought up to a standard that fully complies with the Football NSW requirements.
?It will also ensure the longevity of premier league football and pathways for players in the Bankstown region.?
