Football South Coast Womens Council pre-season launch 2010 a success

Under the new Football South Coast banner for the first time over 200 players and friends were there to hear about the coming year in womens football.
Member for Cunningham Sharon Bird joined the guests and spoke about the popularity of the womens game. Sharon who is a big advocate for the game also told how she has been impressed with the organisation behind the womens football in Illawarra.
IWFA President Jodie Cornford spoke on the ever increasing number in womens football and the new competitions that will be organised for the women during the season.
All teams from the Illawarra Stingrays were in attendance proudly showing the new strip for the season to the admiring crowd.
The announcement that former local junior, womens and Stingrays player Michelle Heyman had played during the week for the Matildas brought a great round of applause.
With the advancement in player numbers, the Football South Coast Womens Council are likely to have their hands full for the next couple of years.
Currently they have the defending Premiers & Champions in the Arrive alive womens Premier League, defending Arrive alive Reserve grade Champions with the Stingrays & State Cup winners and Champion of Champions in Wollongong University.
