Super League Round 2 Preview

Fraser Park, led ably at the back by Ante Juric in tandem with Billy Darwich, only went down by the single goal against St George last Sunday and will face a Rams side keen to kick along their own campaign.
While Fraser Park failed to get on the score sheet last start, they do possess firepower in the shape of Stevan Kostanic and Leigh Gunn while Carlo Musumeci went close last weekend. Macarthur will do well to keep an eye on this trio.
The visiting Rams were held to a 2-2 draw by Spirit FC at Lynwood Park and a win here will be very important indeed as they look to be one of the front runners, early on.
Up at the coast, the Lightning welcome Granville Rage. The Coast were perhaps a trifle unlucky to go down to a late goal against FC Bossy last weekend while the Rage were held at home. Pluim Park is always a difficult place to take points so Granville may be content with another draw here.
On Sunday, arguably the pick of the bunch is PCYC Parramatta v St George, if only because both sides won their first game. The two teams met in a preseason trial with the Saints prevailing 4-3, but that number of goals is not likely this time around, with both defences clearly having tightened up. Neither side conceded last weekend.
Mount Druitt Town Rangers had a horror start with their 0-5 reverse and will be out to try and make amends against the visiting Northern Tigers when they meet at Popondetta Park.
The Tigers just slipped up in the final ten minutes against Dulwich Hill and will want to take something here against a side perhaps short of confidence after a first round shellacking.
A 5pm kick off sees Spirit FC take on FC Bossy at Christie Park. Spirit will again be one of the challengers this season and three points at home is normally something they can rely on. Bossy are unlikely to have such a disappointing season as they had last year, though anything less than a Spirit win would be a surprise here.
Finally, on Sunday, at the rare kick off time of 7pm, Dulwich Hill take on Sydney University at Arlington Oval. This fixture was switched due to the early season unavailability of Hensley Field so Dulwich Hill will have the welcome start of four home fixtures to the season, a chance maybe to make a statement.
They will welcome Tony Faria, unavailable last weekend, to the side and he will have a chance to link up again with Jay Lucas, both having transferred from Bonnyrigg WE in the off season.
University were impressive last week, particularly up front, and maybe should have taken all the points. This match will be one worth watching.
