The 2010 School Regional Futsal Championships start with a bang!

With over 100 teams participating from primary to senior age groups and teams traveling from as far as Newcastle competition was always going to be tough. Local derbies were on show over the three days with schools such as Gosford HS Terrigal HS and Lisarow HS to name a few coming up against each other in feisty encounters.
The first day of competition saw more than 20 teams in the Primary Age groups take to the courts with Kincumber PS leading the way making it through to all Finals of the day. Vocal support was very loud throughout the day with parents, teachers and school children getting amongst the excitement of the day.
On the second day of the tournament it was the senior boys turn to hit the courts with some great Futsal put on display. Testosterone was high with all teams showing the fire inside and the passion to get the final result. Narara Valley HS and Gosford HS were in great form throughout the day showing some great skills in all ages. Final results shown below.
On the final day of the Championships it was the senior girls time to shine and they did not disappoint with some great discipline shown on and off the court all teams played well above expectations. Narara Valley HS again showing that they were the School to beat as they came out winners in all ages.

The next stop for the School Regional Championships was Berkeley on the South Coast. The South Coast always proves to be a very competitive region in NSW with the winning teams always eager to compete against teams around Sydney at the State Championships. Teams travelled great distance to compete in the Championships, Batemans Bay, Canberra, and Ulladulla to name a few. With over 100 teams participating over the week the schools from the South were not going to disappoint.
On the first day of competition it was back to the Primary age groups to step up and show off their skill. Results were split evenly between all schools on the day with Nareena Hills PS and Balgownie PS displaying some great Futsal.
The second day was always going to be an impressive performance from all teams as the South Coast has always produced great 14 Boys and 14 Girls teams. With Schools such as Illawarra Sports HS and Keira HS competition was going to be tough in both the boys and girls. Great Futsal and sportsman ship was shown throughout the whole day and all State qualifiers will be very hard to beat at the 2010 State Championships.
Mid week it was the 16 and 19 year old girls turn to impress. A lot of talent was on display in both age groups. Bomaderry HS, and Erindale College proved to be the ones to beat In the 19?s age group with very structured goals scored on the day showed that they had been very well drilled in the lead up to the tournament. Illawarra Sports again showing that they are the team to beat with some great individual performance by all players.
The 16 year old boys were up again and flare between all players was shown in all games. Illawarra Sports and Holy Cross HS deserved there spot in the final with hard fought wins in all games. On the last day of the tournament it was the 19 year old Boys to hit the courts with pace and passion. Erindale College showed some exciting Futsal with pin point passes and driving shots sending a message to other teams that they didn?t drive for 3 hours to lose. Edmund Rice College and Wonoona HS also displayed structure in their side fighting it out for a finals spot.
