Penrith was the first stop and again did not disappoint with over 70 teams competing over four days standard was high in all ages. The senior boys kicked off the competition on the Tuesday with some very fierce Futsal on display. Erindale College again made the trip from Canberra to participate in the Championships and proved to be the team to beat on the day with some well structured Futsal being played throughout the day. In the 16 Boys it was Merrylands HS to take it out at the end of the day.
The Primary age groups took the courts on the second day of the Championships and delighted us all with their Sportsmanship and great Futsal. Our Lady of Nativity was looking strong in all ages throughout the day and special mention goes to OLON for the amount of teams entered by the School. Seaforth PS had travelled a distance to compete and the little ten year olds showed no signs of the travel as they took out the 10 year old age group in a fine style, while Penrith Anglican College took out the 12 Boys.
On the Thursday it was the 14 Boys and Girls time to shine, being the most competitive age group in the Championships competition was always going to be intense for all teams. Xavier College showed great courage in both the Boys and Girls and were rewarded at the end of the day. McCarthy Catholic College proved to be too strong in the Boys with some great results throughout the day, While Quakers Hill HS were a surprise packet of the day making it through to the Final only to go down Xavier in a hard fought Final.
On the final day of competition the senior girls produced some exciting Futsal. Erindale College made up for there loss on the South Coast with a complete dominance throughout the day.
