NSW Super League Round 15 Preview

What exciting times in the NSW Super League with goals galore recently. Just when clear leaders Parramatta Eagles saw off one challenger with a ‘6-point’ win over Macarthur Rams, another appears on their horizon in the form of Northern Tigers, who now lead the ‘goals-for’ column. 
Granville Rage will want to stay in touch. Yes, some more great games this weekend!
Saturday
Only two games this Saturday night.
Barring heavier rain Central Coast Lightning should be right to host Dulwich Hill at Pluim Park, Lisarow. Central Coast celebrated a very useful but close win over Spirit FC just when things were really looking grim for them holding the wooden spoon come season end, and they will be dead keen to keep collecting points.
The Coast’s confidence will be sky-high but Dulwich Hill took a dent to their ambitions for greater things last weekend away to Granville so coach Mark Strachan’s men will travel north keen to rebound. Jamie Lobb’s leadership of the young home side will again be crucial in they are keep the like’s of Tony Faria under control.
St George Stadium, Rockdale, sees two teams whose progress has stalled somewhat recently and a great spectacle is assurred as St George Saints host Sydney University.
Christian Soares’ hat-trick last round and the win over Mt Druitt will give the ‘students’ both confidence and momentum. The Saints for their part pack plenty of fire-power right across the park, but so far this season they just haven’t found the net enough. Can the drought break on Saturday night?

Sunday
Four games on Sunday afternoon
Hot from their big victory in Tuesday night’s McDonalds Cup Spirit FC will host Fraser Park FC at Christie Park, Marsfield on Sunday afternoon.  Spirit’s league form has been somewhat patchy however and their fast passing game will need to be on display at home this time.
Spirit have parted company with Jason Van Blerk and assistant coach Steve Appleby admits that .. “we now have to get back on track in the league and take one game at a time”. Fraser Park’s 5-1win over Mt Druitt Town Rangers in a deferred match will still be fresh in their mind even though they have since stumbled against FC Bossy. Which Fraser Park will turn up, and which Spirit?
FC Bossy Liverpool returns home to Ernie Smith Reserve, Moorebank, for the big clash with leaders Parramatta Eagles. Brian Dene has been keeping his side consistently winning and keeping the clear lead recently and will not want Bossy to be a road bump.
Can Shane Ardel and Daniel Fogarty score more for the Eagles than the home side’s Alex Asanovic and the double Wilson threat?
Macarthur Rams host Northern Tigers at Lynwood Park, St Helen’s Park in what will be be a battle royal. Both teams wear the prince’s mantle but aim to be king. They each need to get distance on the other to have a chance for crowning at the end of the season.
The Rams will be quietly confident after holding Sydney FC scoreless for 90 mins in Tuesday night’s trial. Northern Tigers have to leave their Asquith fortress but if Park Sung-yun, Paul Davies, Tom Spencer, and Michael Simmonds all bring their scoring boots the Tigers will have a feast. You can be assured that Rams coach Claudio Canoso will have plans to contain them.
Popondetta Park, Emerton, sees the remaining R15 game with Mount Druitt Town Rangers smarting from recent defeats having to host a ‘hot-cold-hot’ Granville Rage.               
Mount Druitt’s young side is quite capable of overturning anyone on their day, but will this be one of those days! The white heat of Rage’s Kris Holbrook, Nenos Bobo, Pat Cappuccio, and David Harding will be applied to the Rangers defence that has by far the worst goals-against column in the league. What can Rangers coach Gilbert Yalda do to cool the situation?
