2011 National Paralympic 7-A-Side Football Championships
This is the first time that the tournament will be held in South Australia.
FFSA Game Development Manager John Mundy said that ?Football Federation SA is extremely pleased to be hosting such a wonderful tournament. It is always exciting to host an event that showcases the best in Australia and the Paralympics 7 a-side National Championships is one such event. We look forward to delivering a high quality tournament in April.?
SA Paralympics Head Coach Jonathan Ruse is equally as excited and says that ?Hosting the tournament in South Australia will provide a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness about the sport throughout the State. I?m sure there are many people with Cerebral Palsy or Acquired Brain injury in South Australia who are not aware that a 7 A-Side Football program is available and the exciting possibilities to represent their State or even country. Such as local player Thomas Goodman who recently travelled to Scotland in August to play for Australia. We are keen to get the word out as much as we can to interested players, regardless of their ability or experience to join the program.?
The Venue is at Barrett Reserve, Adelaide Shores, West Beach.
Information will soon be available on the Football Federation South Australia website which is www.ffsa.com.au
