Katie-Louise Patterson picks up Outstanding Official State/Regional award at NSW Sports Federation Awards
2010 has been an exciting year for Katie as she continued on her path to elite selection by being appointed as the Grand Final Referee for the Football NSW Women?s Premier League as well as outperforming many of her male counterparts to be selected to both the National Youth League and the Westfield Women?s League as an Assistant Referee.
Katie also went on the be selected as the Football NSW Referee of the Year (2010) in the Women?s Premier league
When told of her award Katie responded by saying that her selection, from among such strong company was nothing short of ?awesome? a feeling echoed by the Football NSW Referee?s Technical Committee Coordinator, Mr Steve Fenech.
Katie?s selection has continued to vindicate the hard work and dedication of the Referee?s Technical Committee and in particular the efforts of Mr John Parker, Ms Sharon O?Neill and Ms Jenny Bray who spearheaded the development of our young prospective elite match officials he went on to say.
An accomplished official at State level Katie now hopes to build on her recent successes? with the eventual aim of being selected to the national competitions as a referee setting her sights on inclusion in the AFC ?Project Future? referees program in 2011.
Football NSW and the Referees Technical Committee would like to congratulate Katie on her selection in this prestigious youth program and we all look forward to seeing more of her in the years to come.
