Known for being the club that has produced more national team captains and players than any other Australian football club, the Tigers see this match as a key fixture prior to the commencement of the NSW Premier League season kicking off in the last week of March.
The Sky Blues will of course be in full force as they too have a special reason in playing this match in light of their Asian Champions League campaign.
The Tigers will have the likes of players such as Franco Parisi, Nick Rizzo, David D?Apuzzo, Marton Vass and the new inclusions of Cole Tinkler, Sam Messam and Jose Bello Amigo on hand to tackle their A-League opponents.
The game will also see former Tigers star and now Sydney FC midfielder Hirofumi Moriyasu do battle at his old stomping ground at Lambert Park.
Special guest on the day will be the Mayor of Leichhardt Council Jamie Parker who will be on hand to officially kick the match off.
The curtain raiser to the big seniors clash will see the Canterbury District Soccer Football Association?s Under 11?s side take on the Under 12?s.
