Sydney, State, Robertson & Bill Cullinan Cups draw for 2011 Released
The combined draw covers all age groups from Grade 11 to Grade 18 for the boys, Grades 21- Over 35 & All Age for the men and Grades 12-14-16-18 & All Age for the Women.
This year has seen a record 571 entries received for these tournaments, eclipsing the previous highest number of entries of 526 received in 2010.
Obvious increases can be seen in the Sydney Cup age groups (11-13-15-17 boys) where entries have increased from 113 in 2010 to 139 in 2011. In the 14 womens we have 29 entries (8 in 2009 and 26 in 2010).
Sutherland lead the way with 90 entries from Southern Districts with 74 entries, however the exciting new Football South Coast region is very well represented with 34 teams entered. Griffith has entered three teams in the Bill Cullinan Cup for AA Men. Dubbo has entered teams in the AA Womens, 12,14 boys and AA Men. This year also sees Southern Tablelands enter teams into 11,12,13 boys and 14 women?s.
Round 1 will commence on Sunday 8th May 2011 with many games across the Sydney Metropolitan area, the Football South Coast region and at Goulburn, Griffith and Dubbo. Round 2 will be played on Sunday 22 May when over 150 games will be played before subsequent rounds on Sundays 5th June, 19th June and 26th June culminating in the Finals of all age groups on Sunday 17th July 2011.
With six weekends of knockout football to be played with a record number of entries, the 2011 Sydney, State, Robertson & Bill Cullinan Cups tournaments should prove to be an exciting time for all players and supporters alike.
