The three matches in January to be played at Bathurst, Campbelltown and Launceston, come as Australian football looks to take the league to exciting new frontiers.
?This is very exciting for football in Australia and New Zealand as the game spreads its wings and takes the Hyundai A-League to fresh, regional markets while also reaching out to our large and vociferous football community,? said Head of Hyundai A-League Lyall Gorman.
?For the first time we take an official Hyundai A-League match to three fantastic areas where the community has been calling out for a taste of the best live domestic football this country has to offer.
?FFA this year has worked tirelessly in preparing a fixture schedule that offers a wide range of positives for our football loving community and these fixtures should prove another exciting proposition for season seven.
“Football is the game of the Australian people. It is played and supported by more people than any other code, not just in metropolitan Australia but in the regions and suburbs.
?This important innovation to the Hyundai A-League draw gives all Australians the opportunity to say, whether they live in a big city or a smaller town, We Are Football.”
While the opponents have not yet been decided the Hyundai A-League 2012 Grand Final will be played on Sunday, 22 April, 2012 with the venue and kick off time subject to the completion of the Regular Season.
