Players to be the winners in Proctor Park upgrade

Following consultation with the Bathurst football community, Bathurst Regional Council is finalising plans for redevelopment of change room facilities at the complex.
Funding has been allocated for the construction of a new building that will include new player change rooms and toilets, upgraded referee?s rooms, and public toilets.
The work is part of an ongoing upgrade of the Proctor Park precinct, to secure its future as the home of football in Bathurst and support the growth of the sport in the region.
?There are more registered players playing football than any other sport in the Central West, and the popularity of the game continues to grow, as you can see by the great response from fans to this week?s A-League match between Adelaide and Newcastle at Carrington Park,? said Mayor Greg Westman.
?Over the past twelve months Council has undertaken projects to upgrade facilities for the AFL at George Park and at the Bathurst netball courts, and we are committed to ensuring that we provide the best possible facilities at Proctor Park to cater for the needs of the many footballers that regularly use the fields.?
$250,000 has been set aside for the building project in Council?s management plan for the coming year.
Designs for the complex have been completed and a DA has been lodged for the development. It?s expected that tenders will be called for the construction of the building in early February.
