Skill Acquisition League kicking off this Sunday

Being an elite, non-competitive, representative competition where players are restricted to playing for the association in which they reside, 2012 is set to be bigger than ever before as some of NSW?s talented youngsters take to the pitch.
Football NSW Technical Director Alex Tobin was looking forward to the start of the SAL and believed that there was a good source of talent coming through the system.
?Trial games over the last few months have shown a great commitment to developing our young football talent and Football NSW look forward to a great season.
?Despite unseasonal weather there have been significant improvements amongst the teams and a great brand of football has been shown.?
Tobin recently watched matches between Blacktown SAL and Granville SAL at the newly opened Blacktown Olympic Park and was impressed with what he saw from both age groups.
?It was a great day for football, firstly on the reason that a new football facility was opened and secondly watching these talented young kids in their respective SAL programs take part in pre-season matches.
?Both sets of coaches showed that their focus was on development and this was reflected on the pitch by the two teams maintaining effective possession of the ball.
?All teams will look for success out on the park but importantly, are looking to play in a way that will lift the standard of our young players.
?We wish every player, coach and parent all the best for SAL in 2012.?
