Women’s Premier League Round 9 Preview

This week?s round of the match is the students down at Sydney University going up against the Inter Lions on their own turf.
It is sure to be an exciting match, so make sure to check back for a full review of the round.
Sydney University Vs. Inter Lions
The students coming off an excellent win against the strong Manly side last week will be looking to continue their excellent form when they meet Inter Lions at home on Sunday. They will be looking to the strike power once again of last week?s hat trick scorer T. Kingsley to give them that edge.
Inter Lions, after a promising start to the season have slipped into the lower half of the table and will be looking to this match to consolidate a higher position. The Lions have proven on occasions that they can score a number of goals, but in the process have leaked goals in their defensively and would need to remedy that aspect if they expect to gain maximum points this weekend.

Manly United Vs. Central Coast Mariners Academy
Manly United with their hard fought win last week will be looking to climb further up the table this week when they take on the Central Coast Mariners Academy at home. Manly have hit a good patch of form lately and will be looking to take the three points against their opposition to consolidate the club?s position in the first four.
Central Coast Mariners after their postponement last week no doubt will be looking to halt Manly?s advance on the points table, needing three points for themselves to bolster their confidence and move away from the bottom half of the table. This should prove to be a very entertaining match.

NWS Koalas Vs. Blacktown Spartans
Both of these sides last week dropped points temporarily stalling their run up the ladder.  
NWS Koalas will hope to bounce back from the three nil defeat by the students and will be looking too their experienced players, led by Matildas Ellyse Perry to get back on the winning track.
Blacktown Spartans after a promising start to the season have slipped to the bottom half of the ladder in the last few weeks.
Coming up against the strong and experienced Koalas, Blacktown will be bringing their A game to be able to achieve the three vital points.

Sutherland Shire Vs. Illawarra Stingrays
Sutherland Shire in the last two weeks has shrugged off the blues to record two well-earned victories for the young inexperienced side.
However, they will need to be at the top of their game to stem the tide against the stampeding Stingrays.
The Stingrays bounced back into the winners circle after unexpected draws and they will be looking to Michelle Carney to lead the team to another victory to stay in line with the frontrunners.

Marconi Stallions Vs. Macarthur Rams
Marconi Stallions despite winning well last round have started to lose touch with the top half of the table and will be looking to defeat Macarthur Rams at home, but will need to have all guns firing at the same time to achieve a victory against a Macarthur side led by Kylie Ledbrook and Renee Rollason who on their day are capable of beating any team in the competition. This should be an extremely interesting battle for the fans at Marconi Stadium.
Sunday 3pm @ Marconi Stadium.
Northbridge Vs. Gladesville Ravens
Both teams desperately languishing at the bottom of the premier league table will be looking to this game to gain maximum points to climb off the bottom. Gladesville, in their last few weeks have shown vast improvement and if they continue in that fashion and play for the full ninety minutes could take home maximum points.
Northbridge, on the same points as their opponents have shown signs that they are improving but would need to shore up their defence as they have had maximum goals scored against them of any team in the competition and would need to address this facet of their game to obtain a result.
