Special Feature: Midgley – “We can’t get carried away with in at Edensor Park”
Manly defeated Sydney United 1-0 at Sydney United Sports Centre last round, lifting them to 9th on the NSW Premier League ladder.
After the game Midgley told Football NSW that his team had it all ahead of them.
“After our start to the season we?re not a top five team at the moment,?? he said.
“We just have to keep working and improving. If we keep injury free there is no reason why we cant be in that group fighting for that top five.
“We?re not going to get carried away by wining one game, it?s a good start and we needed a win.
“But we?ve got a lot of hard work to do to keep ourselves away from the bottom.??
Midgley will be hoping his side notch up their second win of the season when they travel to Blacktown Sports Park to take on the Blacktown Spartans this Saturday at 7pm.
After playing his first choice back four for the first time this season Midgley is hoping for some consistent results moving forward.
“You don?t come to Edensor Park and get points unless your back four plays really well,?? he said.
“They played well (against Sydney United) ? that?s the first time they played together.
“They were under a lot of pressure but we defended really well.??
