Steve Solomon: Hakoah FC Youth Running for Olympic Gold

The 19 year old Australian ran a personal best 44.97 seconds to qualify seventh fastest for the prestigious event, where he will run from lane three.
Just three years ago, he was playing youth football for the Hakoah FC under 16 side, where his pace down the right wing brought him much success.
During that season it became obvious that he was quite a bit quicker than everybody else and with the help of his school (Cranbrook, Bellevue Hill) and his coach, he turned his attentions to a career in athletics. His meteoric rise culminated in selection for the 2012 London Olympic team.
Solomon has since run two personal best times to become the first Australian to qualify for the final of the 400m since Darren Clarke at the Seoul Olympics of 1988.
Football NSW and Hakoah FC wish Steve all the best in the final tomorrow morning.
