Futsal Premier League Round 9 Review

In the deferred Round 4 match, Campbelltown Quake smashed Sydney City Eagles 8-3, thanks to braces from Harley Da Silva and Dean Lockhart, plus goals from Joshua Curtain, Daniel Martinez, Mark Symington and Nathan Schicchitano. Miles Downie (twice) and Matthew Trotter scored for Sydney City.
In the deferred Round 5 match, Dural Warriors annihilated Mascot Vipers 10-0, to go with their 8-0 win over Quake in the Round 9 fixture.
Dural destroy Quake
Dural Warriors defeated Campbelltown Quake 8-0, putting on a sensational show.
Warriors were just on another level , and their professionalism was well and truly on display as they delivered a hammering, to go with their 1-0 demolition of Vipers in a deferred match.
Quake manager Carlos Martinez was happy to concede that his side just could not match it with Dural.
?They gave us a Futsal lesson,? he said.
?We were totally outplayed.
?We changed tactics to try and deal with them, they were pressing really high, but obviously it didn?t work.
?They had the ball for about 80 per cent of the game,? he added.
It was a rough day for Quake, who have showed signs of improvement in recent weeks after a very sluggish start to the season.
?It was a hard day at the office,? Martinez continued.
?The score blew out at the end as we tried a few things to try and get back into the game, but all credit to Dural, they were fantastic.
?I have nothing but credit for Dural?, he concluded.
Rob Varela was obviously pleased with the performance of his side, on what was a great weekend for Dural.
?It?s always a hard game against Quake,? he said.
?We got on top fairly early though.
?We?re quite happy with how we?re going but we don?t want to count our chickens before they?ve hatched.
?We need to improve a bit before the really big games come around,? Varela concluded.
Enfield defeat brave Phoenix
Enfield Rovers defeated Phoenix Futsal Club 8-4 away from home in a high scoring encounter.
For Enfield, it is a continuation of the good form that they have showed thus far this season, but Phoenix won?t be too disappointed with their showing, which was very much in keeping with their solid start to life in the Premier League.
Honours even between Inner West and Mascot Vipers
Inner West Magic and Mascot Vipers played out an entertaining 3-3 draw, Vipers recovering well from their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Dural Warriors the night before.
Dylan Maloney, Marino Musumeci and Lucas Rossi scored for Inner West, whilst Anthony Tomelic?s brace and Brad Di Salvo?s strike accounted for Mascot?s goals.
Inner West Magic?s squad was depleted by suspension and unavailability and their coach Carmine Bortone was pleased with their effort.
?Considering that we only had three first team players, it was a good result,? he said.
?It was a good game, though.
?The youth players played well and one of them (Lucas Rossi) scored the third goal,? Bortone concluded.
Boomerangs FS kick clear of Sydney City Eagles
Boomerangs FS continued their strong home form, defeating Sydney City Eagles.
Boomerangs were 7-3 winners over struggling Eagles, who have battled thus far this season and once again came up short, despite their best efforts.
