Football NSW held its second of many Technical Workshops at Valentine Sports Park on Monday April 15th as various Women’s Premier and State League Technical Directors, youth coaches from U12s to U16s as well as first team and reserve grade coaches witnessed both theory and practical sessions relating to the National Curriculum.
Advanced coaching courses, referee KPIs, team expectations, season planning and model training sessions in both a skill acquisition and game training phase took place as model sessions were taken from the new FFA National Curriculum which was outlined in the National Technical Network in Canberra earlier this month.
Football NSW Technical Director Alex Tobin and Referees Manager Kris Griffiths Jones discussed the theory part of the evening while Football NSW Institute U13s coach Jane Talcevski and Coach Coordinator Ian Crook took part in the practical sessions.
Macarthur Rams head coach Shane Duffy, Marconi Stallions head coach Rob Pearce, Northbridge FC’s head coach Larry Bates, Sutherland Shire’s head coach Michael Michael, Sydney University’s head coach Michael Mantikos, Gladesville Ravens’ head coach Wayne Richardson, Mount Druitt Town Rangers’ Technical Director Taryn Rockdall, St George FC head coach Ross Gardner, UNSW Lions head coach Sally Paterson, Bankstown City FC’s first grade coach Gus Cerro, were just some of the many familiar faces that took part in the seminars on the evening.
