SUPA IGA National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s 2: The Teenage Revolution – Round 17 report

Mt Druitt Town Rangers had taken thirteen points from their first round clash with Sydney University but the Rangers had to be content with ten points from this week’s games.

Spirit FC pocketed ten points last time they faced St George and they repeated that effort this week by claiming ten points once again.

Fraser Park had collected sixteen points from their first round encounter with Bankstown City Lions and they did it again this time with another sixteen points to show for their efforts.

Parramatta FC and Macarthur Rams shared the first round points at eight apiece but on this occasion the Rams grabbed twelve points from the return fixture.

Mounties Wanderers claimed thirteen points when they faced Northern Tigers last time around but this week the Wanderers had to be content with ten points from the weekend matches.

Hills Brumbies and Bankstown Berries had split the first round points at nine apiece and this time they took six points each from the four matches for which the results were known at the time of writing.

Table toppers Mt Druitt Town Rangers had taken nine points from their first round clash with second placed Sydney University but this time around the clubs shared the spoils at six points each, leaving the Rangers six points clear of Uni.

Third placed Spirit FC shared the points with St George in the first round with each club taking six points from the day but this time the Saints gained the upper hand as they earned seven points and that left Spirit with just four points from the clash. However, Spirit were able to hang onto third place while the Saints dropped back one place to eighth.

Hills Brumbies and Bankstown Berries took six points each from their encounter in the first round and that is exactly what happened again this week. The Brumbies and the Berries have remained in fourth and fifth places respectively.

Mounties Wanderers secured nine points from the first round meeting with Northern Tigers and while they earned the majority of points this week, the Wanderers had to be content with seven points from the day. That leaves them in sixth spot but the Tigers have slipped back one place to tenth.

Fraser Park had claimed ten points from their first round engagement with Bankstown City Lions and they repeated the dose this week as they took ten points from the day. Fraser Park have climbed one place to seventh while the Lions are still in eleventh position.

Macarthur Rams had claimed seven of the first round points from their matches against Parramatta FC and this time around the Rams collected nine points from the encounter. The Rams have moved up one place to ninth while Parramatta are still sitting at the foot of the table.

It looks as though the top two teams will fight it out for the title over the next few weeks and the next five teams will be engaged in a battle royale to claim one of the other three places in the finals series.

Sydney University were 1-0 winners last time they saw Mt Druitt Town Rangers and Uni completed the double this week when they once again posted a 1-0 victory. That leaves Uni one point clear at the top of the table while the Rangers have dropped back two places to sixth.

Hills Brumbies had registered a 3-1 win over Bankstown Berries in the first round and they completed the double this time when they came up with a 2-0 result. That leaves the Brumbies in second spot and the Berries have managed to hold onto eighth position.

Spirit FC collected the first round points with a 2-0 result over St George but the tables were turned this time around as the Saints posted a 2-0 result of their own. Scoring the goals for the Saints were B. Panagiotakis and H. Jomaa. That has left Spirit in third position while the Saints have climbed one place to be fourth with the teams now separated only by goal difference.

Fraser Park were 4-0 winners when they faced Bankstown City Lions last time and while Fraser Park completed the double this week, the scoreline was a lot closer at 1-0. the winning goal came from J. Hirschowitz. That has allowed them to move up one place to fifth while the Lions are still in eleventh position.

Northern Tigers had claimed the points last time they saw Mounties Wanderers with a 2-0 result but the account was squared this week when the Wanderers registered a 2-0 scoreline. The scorers were Alexander Mangion and Adem Alpay. That has meant that the Tigers have held onto seventh spot while the Wanderers have climbed one place to eighth.

The first round points had gone to Macarthur Rams when they were 2-1 winners over Parramatta FC and the Rams did it again this week, this time recording a 2-0 win. The goals for the Rams came from B. Cummins and M. Lane. They have remained in tenth position while Parramatta are still on the bottom rung of the ladder.

SUPA IGA National Premier League NSW Men’s 2 – Grade 13

At the moment, it looks as though the current top four will fight out the pecking order between now and the end of the competition and while that will attract plenty of interest, the battle for the remaining position in the play-offs will also hold much interest as there are at least four teams who can still qualify for that spot.

Bankstown Berries have extended their lead at the top of the table to eight points after they posted a 4-0 victory over Hills Brumbies this week, an outcome that has pushed the Brumbies back two places to ninth. The Berries had won the first round match with a 5-0 scoreline.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers held onto second place following their 6-0 loss to Sydney University who have remained in fourth position. When these teams met in the first round the match finished in a 2-2 draw.

Third placed Mounties Wanderers reduced the gap between themselves and second spot to goal difference when they produced a 3-1 success over Northern Tigers who have slipped back one place to twelfth. The goals for the Wanderers came from James Kolis (2) and Jaxon Bain while Matthew Dobson found the net for the Tigers. The Wanderers had won the first round clash with a 2-1 result.

Macarthur Rams had registered a 3-1 win in their first round meeting with Parramatta FC but the ledger was squared this time around when Parramatta claimed the points with a 1-0 victory thanks to a strike from Y. Takahashi. This has left the Rams in fifth place while Parramatta have moved up one place to eighth.

Sixth placed Spirit FC had suffered a 2-1 first round loss to St George but this time the teams shared the spoils when their match finished in a scoreless draw. That result was enough to allow the Saints to move up one place to seventh, two points behind Spirit.

Fraser Park had claimed the points with a 1-0 win last time they played against Bankstown City Lions but on this occasion the teams shared the spoils when they were locked together at 1-1 when the final whistle sounded. Fraser Park’s goal was scored by S. Bremner. That has left Fraser Park at tenth while the Lions have climbed one place to eleventh.

SUPA IGA National Premier League NSW Men’s 2 – Grade 14

It seems certain that the top two teams will be engaged in a battle for the title over the next few weeks and then things become very interesting indeed as there are at least eight teams who want to claim one of the other three places in the finals series.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers have maintained their place at the top of the table and extended their lead to six points following their 4-1 success over second placed Sydney University. When the teams met in the first round the Rangers had won by exactly the same scoreline.

Third placed Fraser Park came up with a 1-0 result when they faced Bankstown City Lions who, due to results elsewhere actually rose one place to sixth. The winning goal was scored by A. Small. These teams had battled out a 1-1 draw when they met in the first round.

Bankstown Berries had suffered a 2-1 loss when they came up against Hills Brumbies in the first round by this week the Berries turned the tables with a 3-0 victory and they have climbed one place to fourth as a result. The Brumbies have slipped back one place to seventh.

Mounties Wanderers claimed the points with a 2-1 result last time they saw Northern Tigers but this time around the teams shared the points when they were locked up in a scoreless draw at the final whistle. The Wanderers have dropped back one place to fifth and the Tigers have also slipped back from ninth to tenth.

St George had beaten Spirit FC 2-1 when they met in the first round and the Saints completed the double this week when they produced a 1-0 result. That has left Spirit in eight position while the Saints have moved up one place to ninth and they are behind Spirit only on goal difference.

Eleventh placed Macarthur Rams had lost their first round clash with twelfth placed Parramatta FC by a 2-1 scoreline but this week the Rams collected the points thanks to their 3-0 victory with their goals coming from E. Maguire, L. Bell and M. Lymberis.

SUPA IGA National Premier League NSW Men’s 2 – Grade 15

It does look as though the current leaders will take out the title but they will know that a slip-up can be very costly. It also seems that the second and third placed teams will be in their own battle for the pecking order. Then the next six teams will all be vying to capture one of the two places remaining in the finals series and this race is wide open.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers are now ten points clear at the top of the table after they were 1-0 winners over Sydney University who have been pushed back one place to third. When the teams met in the first round the Rangers produced a 2-1 result.

Spirit FC climbed one place to second when they came up with a 3-2 result over fifth placed St George. Spirit’s goals were scored by J. Robertson (2) and L. Wilson while L. Maniakas and S. Georgiou netted for the Saints. That completes the double for Spirit as they had also won the first round game with a 3-2 scoreline.

Hills Brumbies held onto fourth place with a 3-2 win over twelfth placed Bankstown Berries, reversing the first round outcome when the Berries had come up with a 2-1 win. 

Fraser Park had posted a 4-1 win over Bankstown City Lions when the teams met in the first round and they took the points again this week when they were 3-1 winners. That has allowed Fraser Park to move up one place to sixth while the Lions are still in tenth position.

Northern Tigers climbed one place to seventh this week when they recorded a 3-2 win over Mounties Wanderers who have slipped back from sixth to ninth. The goals for the Tigers were scored by Thomas Ascroft (2) and Samuel Malone  while Jake Marshall netted a double for Mounties. The Wanderers had won the first round clash with a 3-2 scoreline.

Macarthur Rams and Parramatta FC had fought out a 1-1 draw when they faced off in the first round but this time around the Rams took all the points when they produced a 3-0 result. The Rams are now one place better off at eighth while Parramatta are still in eleventh position.

SUPA IGA National Premier League NSW Men’s 2 – Grade 16

We could well be in for a stunning finish to the competition as any one of the top six can still stake a claim for the title and there are another two teams who could still compete for places in the finals series. Every result will be interesting from here on in.

Mounties Wanderers are still the competition frontrunners but their lead has been reduced to single point after they suffered a 1-0 loss to Northern Tigers, a result that has pushed the Tigers one place up the table to fourth.. This result has squared the ledger as the Wanderers were 2-0 winners in the first round match.

Spirit FC moved one place up the ladder to second when they produced a 2-1 victory over eleventh placed St George. Scoring a double for Spirit was N. Lara and J. Morfitis found the net for the Saints. That completes the double for Spirit as they were 2-1 winners in the first round match.

Parramatta FC slipped back to third when they went down 5-3 to Macarthur Rams who have climbed one place to eighth. The scorers for the Rams were S. Rose (2), D. Lagudi, R. Kawa and A. Matijasevic while Parramatta’s goals came from J. Taunton (2) and A. Miranda When they met in the first round these teams battled out a 2-2 draw.

Bankstown Berries had lost their first round match to Hills Brumbies by a 2-1 scoreline but the result of this week’s return match was not known at the time of writing.

Sixth placed Mt Druitt Town Rangers had produced a 3-1 victory when they faced seventh placed Sydney University in the first round and the Rangers completed the double this week when they won by exactly the same scoreline.

Fraser Park moved up one place to ninth when they were 1-0 winners over twelfth placed Bankstown City Lions and that gives Fraser Park the double as they had won the first round match 2-0.

As it stands the title could be claimed by any of the current top five teams so that battle holds its’ own fascination but then there are two more teams who are ready to pounce for a place in the finals series should any of those above them slip up.

Mounties Wanderers have moved to the top of the table thanks to their 4-1 success over Northern Tigers who have dropped back one place to sixth. These teams had fought out a 1-1 draw when they met in the first round.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers slipped back to second following their 1-1 draw with Sydney University who have dropped one place to fifth. Last time the teams saw each other the Rangers had claimed all the points with a 4-1 scoreline.

Parramatta FC held onto third place after they collected the points with a 4-2 result over twelfth placed Macarthur Rams. Parramatta’s goal were scored by D. Bonomy (2), P. Machara and T. Bonomy while R. Lloyd and G. Doudnik  found the net for the Rams. Parramatta have claimed the double as they had won the first round encounter 3-1.

Spirit FC and St George had battled out a 2-2 first round draw but this time Spirit bagged all the points with a 2-0 win thanks to goals from K. Kilinc and D. Polkinghorne.. As a result, Spirit have climbed one place to ninth while the Saints have remained in eighth position.
