As many as 40 Bossley Park High School students have gone through an intense and insightful Level 4 referees course as part of the school’s football program with the assistance of Football NSW mentors.

Football NSW, under the watchful eyes of Referees Manager and Hyundai A-League referee Kris Griffiths-Jones as well as Referee Education Coordinator Robert Nieuwenhuis took charge of the course during term two where the best performing students were then selected to officiate at the PSSA Championships in Camden.

Griffiths-Jones was buoyed by the talent that was on hand and stated that the future of refereeing looked bright with these special projects put in place.

“This initiative has been a major success.

“We now have some very talented up and coming referees who had never thought about being a match official before.

“Football NSW is now starting to incorporate the Bossley Park High School students into our elite football competitions as they continue their development towards becoming a fully-fledged referee.”
