After last Round’s action which saw Bankstown City FC cement their spot on top of the Women’s State League table, St George FC who sit second will look to fend off Mt Druitt to create a buffer in Round 11.

Nepean FC vs. Gladesville Ravens – Cook Park, 3PM

Nepean currently sits fourth on the ladder with a game in hand. After a brilliant start to the season there has been a slight form slump the past few weeks. They need to once again rise to prominence and show the league that they are worthy of being top of the table again. The key to this is to find some form up front.

Gladesville travel to Nepean this week in search of a win over a top-four side since round two over St George FC. The Ravens have shown some inconsistent form over the past few weeks producing some uncharacteristic mistakes on the field. They are still a great chance to make top four but need to make a point this week against Nepean.

Bankstown City FC vs. Parramatta Lady Hawks – Jensen Park, 3PM

Bankstown enters this game looking for their eighth win in a row. They sit top of the ladder and have the top scorer of the competition. They have the second best defence and are flying at the moment. Though all is good on the field they are suffering with injuries to some key figures and perhaps this is something Parramatta can take advantage of.

The Lady Hawks currently have the worst defensive record in the league but have showed some signs of improvement over the past few weeks. They just need to take advantage of Bankstown’s injuries and have belief and who knows they may be able to snag a famous result.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers vs. Southern Districts Emeralds – Lambert Park, 3PM

The Tigers faced a very motivated and in-form St George side last week conceding ten goals. Though to be positive they did score once and will look to face an Emerald side that has shown some signs of inconsistencies over the past few rounds.

Meanwhile the girls from Southern Districts need to start gaining some form they showed in periods earlier this season. After last round’s hard-fought draw their defence stood tall as they look to another clean sheet this week.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC vs. St George FC – Popondetta Park, 3PM

This clash will see two of the top three teams in the league and will be an absolute joy to watch. With St George’s recent attacking form of 23 goals in the last three games most will agree that they are the firm favourites in this match.

Though football is not all about possession it’s what you do with the ball when you have it that ultimately matters. The Town Rangers have shown that they are not the highest scoring team in the league but there are one of the most efficient. They make their possession count and moreover they are together in the cause.
