The first of Sydney FC’s home pre-season games has been announced as Graham Arnold looks to get his squad into peak shape ahead of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season.

The Sky Blues will continue their long association with the Macarthur Rams by travelling to Campbelltown Stadium on Wednesday, July 16 (kick-off 7.30pm), to face a Macarthur side who currently sit second in the SUPA IGA NSW NPL Men’s 2 competition.

The Sky Blues drew with the Rams 1-1 in last season’s friendly match, with striker Christopher Naumoff scoring for Sydney FC.

“We are looking forward to the game against Macarthur Rams,” said Head Coach Graham Arnold.

“With having such a long pre-season it gives me the opportunity to look at a lot of the players.

“This first part of pre-season is about preparing for our two games in New Zealand against Newcastle United and West Ham United.

“This is one of two home friendly games that we are planning for, which will give us a good test.”

Macarthur Rams Head Coach Claudio Canosa said: “We’ve been having these matches against Sydney FC for the last three years and they have always been very competitive encounters.

“We know it’s a game that the players from our club love to play in and match up with the professional players.

“We always rise to the occasion and I hope we can provide a good pre-season test for the Sky Blues.”

Sydney FC has also confirmed to play in the Wingate Townsville Football Cup in North Queensland where they will take on Northern Fury, Newcastle Jets and Brisbane Roar in late August.
