Sasa Macura can already call his first season back in Australian football successful.

The youngster has had an impressive season for Blacktown City in midfield this year and was key in their Waratah Cup run.

“It’s a very good feeling for me personally and for the club of course because we worked hard as a group and deserve to be in the final.”

Macura reiterates that it wasn’t easy getting to the final.

“We took every game as it came and prepared accordingly to our abilities.”

Macura says NSW State League One outfit Hakoah Sydney City was the toughest of opponents.

“The quarter-final tie against Hakoah was the toughest match as their game plan was to go long every time which was frustrating. They had a few big boys upfront who were always a threat once the ball was in the air.”

The midfielder is confident his side can lift the Cup come Sunday.

“We are confident we can win.

“This game will be no different to the others so we will go with the same mentality thus far.”

He also knows the formula to do so.

“We have to continue doing what we have been doing so well, being strong in defence, taking our chances, playing the ball on the ground and our transition play.”

Macura also talked up his teams strengths.

“All the players can make a difference but we need to score goals so Travis Major, Mitch Malia and Ryuji Miyazawa will need to get into goal scoring opportunities.”

On opponents Manly United, Macura was not underestimating the North Shore side.

“They are a much better side than what their place on the league ladder shows and I’m certain they’ll be looking for a big performance in the final.”

He also added who the danger men are.

“They have some experienced players such as Chris Payne, Scott Balderson and Danny Grant who will look to push their team on.”
