Four aspiring young Football NSW referees Caitlin Hort, Rebecca McKenzie, Jessie Sapsed and Kaila Blayney recently took part in the FFA National Youth Championships for Girls held at Coffs Harbour.

The four girls were selected by the Referees Development Panel and were given the honours of officiating at the Championships due to their recent great run of form.

All four have come through their various referees branches with Sapsed and Blayney hailing from Macarthur, McKenzie from Sutherland and Hort from Gladesville.

Football NSW Referees Manager Kris Griffiths Jones praised the girls efforts at Coffs Harbour and stated that this was a stepping stone for progression of their refereeing careers.

“To be involved in such a prestigious tournament such as the FFA National Championships is big achievement for the four girls and I know they would have gained so much from this fantastic and monumental experience.

“It’s definitely yet another stepping stone towards further developing their skill sets as referees.”
