Girls SAP Day a success
Female football was alive and well at Lambert Park as the venue was a hive of activity as many as 250 participants took part in the Girls Supplementary SAP Day that coincided with the “FIFA Live Your Goals” initiative on Sunday 14th of September.
Girls from supplementary SAP programs participated as part of the Gala Day promoting football to female participants as well as meeting Sydney FC’s Westfield W-League squad prior to their round 1 match which they defeated Adelaide United at the same venue.
Football NSW Game Development Manager Hayley Todd was overwhelmed with the response the day had and was delighted to have seen so many smiling faces at the conclusion of the day.
“The Girls Supplementary SAP (GSS) Gala Day provided a fantastic opportunity for some of the most talented young female footballers to showcase their technical ability.
“The quality of football on display is a credit to the Clubs who have provided players with GSS program opportunities in 2014.
“We would like to thank APIA Leichhardt Tigers Football Club for their support and assistance in providing a fantastic venue and the Sydney FC W-League squad for taking the time to meet with GSS Gala Day participants prior to their season seven W-League opening match against Adelaide United.”
