Regional Youth League Grand Final Preview

we

Historic Arlington Reserve will be a buzz of action this Saturday with the Regional Youth League Grand Finals taking place, with the first match kicking off at 10am.

The day kicks off with the U12 match between Sutherland Shire Football and Northbridge FC.  Sutherland has been unbeaten all season and will be looking to carry this form into Saturday’s match. However the boys from Northbridge have hit a purple patch in recent weeks and will prove a tough opponent for the boys from the Shire.

At 11:30am, it will be the boys from the country showing their city counterparts that they deserve their spot in the Grand Final.  Western NSW Mariners will take on Riverina Rhinos, who have covered more land than Burke and Wills over the past couple of weekends to make it through to the Grand Final.  This should be a terrific contest on the new artificial surface at Arlington, which will be a new experience for some of the players.

The U14’s looks to be a great match up between Sutherland Shire Football and Riverina Rhinos.  Neither team has suffered defeat all year, and only one group of players will be able to continue saying that after Saturday.  With the teams not having met during the season, there will be no preconceived ideas or what to expect.  This match will kick off at 1pm.

In the final match of the day at 2:45pm, Granville Rage will take on Southern Districts SFA.  Some of the players from Granville Rage & Southern Districts SFA participated in the inaugural Regional Youth League, with the players from Granville Rage looking to make it two Championships in a row, however the Southern District team will be looking to go a couple better after being runners up in the Plate Competition last year.

Football NSW Regional Youth League Coordinator, Andrew Fathers was looking forward to the weekend ahead.

“This should be a great day, with players from the various clubs both metro and regional putting their skills on show in what should be a terrific day for the game.”
