Rovers remain premier league chiefs with a grueling 6-4 defeat of Mountain Majik, Dural held off a courageous Phoenix 5-1, Vipers were huge in a 3-3 draw with Magic, and Quake shutout UTS 6-0.

Enfield are on top with 16 points but can’t afford a hiccup with Dural breathing down their necks just three points behind. Campbelltown (12) are a point further back with Inner West (9) under threat from Majik (6), Northside (6) and an improving Mascot (4).

Rovers extended their league unbeaten run to nine games (three short of Dural’s record) with a rowdy 6-4 win over Mountain Majik at Valentine Sports Park.

The Mountaineers showed plenty of spike to head into the changeover locked at one apiece, and it was neck-and-neck all the way in a spirited contest that attracted five yellow cards, a Shervin Adeli double helping Enfield finally clinch an absorbing  6-4 victory.

Rob Foti also bagged a brace for Rovers but Adeli’s 12th of a great summer start has him placed five strikes ahead of team-mate Clayton Musumeci and Quake duo Mark Symington and Danny Martinez. Mascot’s Jun Kato and Magic’s Daniel Vellonio have netted six times each, Mascot’s Tuan Cao five.

An attack-minded Enfield have already found 10 scorers in their ranks this season scoring 33 goals, one striker more than Inner West (21 goals), while Campbelltown has the least with just five scorers banging in a healthy 22 goals.

Dural Warriors worked hard for a 5-1 result against Phoenix at Ryde Sports & Community Centre. Phoenix were stubborn and only trailed 3-1 at the break, but a Chris Polkinghorne double backed up by Greg Giovenali, Bruno Pivato and Daine Merrin strikes underlined a tidy 5-1 Warriors win.

Seven straight Phoenix home losses is a new premier league mark and they’re now level with Mascot’s all-time home win-less streak of 11. Dural stayed three points behind leaders Enfield.

Campbelltown Quake rattled UTS Northside with a 6-0 drubbing at Minto Indoor Sports Centre and go third on the ladder. Danny Martinez and Dean Lockhart scored twice each as the home side turned a comfortable 4-0 halftime lead into a six-goal whitewash, their second cleansheet of the season and a good sign ahead of their meeting with offensive juggernaut Rovers.

And what a match at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre as Mascot Vipers fought out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Inner West Magic.

It was 1-1 at the break and nothing separated the two sides in an enthralling game of Futsal, Michael Loupis netting a hat-trick for Mascot to counter Daniel Vellonio’s brace and a Jonathan Barzel goal for Inner West.

Magic’s third frustrating draw has them seven points off the pace and no premier league side has endured four draws in one summer. It was also the third stalemate between the clubs in eight lively meetings (they swapped one-goal victories last season) and typify one of the competition’s most delicious rivalries.

Next week’s games

Raiders top state League

Shuffle the deck as Raiders lead state league with 13 points after six rounds, but it’s bumper-to-bumper as Boomerangs (12), Hakoah (11), Wolves (10) and Eagles (9) round out a top-four traffic jam – and just seven points separate the first 11 in a cracker of a competition! West City Crusaders had the bye.

Raiders went top of the pops with a hardfought 8-6 win against South Coast Taipans. Raiders were cruising at halftime 6-1 ahead, Chris Godoy Bascur netting three times and Damien Smith twice, but Taipans came back hard in the second term only to fall short two goals, David Stojic responding with three goals of his own for South Coast and Jack Taseki two.

Boomerangs did what they had to in a 12-3 win against bottom-side Mount Druitt Town Rangers 12-3 at Canberra’s mpowerdome. Rangers tried hard but were no match for a well-drilled Boomerangs, who turned a cosy 7-2 halftime cushion into a dominant nine-goal win and move to one point from the lead. Callum Smith was impeccable with a five-goal haul, supported by doubles from Ryan Keir, Daniel Fulton and Jason O’Dwyer.

Unbeaten Eastern Suburbs Hakoah jumped to third with an excellent 7-2 win against Sydney City Eagles at Dural Sport & Leisure Centre. Hakoah led 3-1 at oranges and goals came from Jarrod Basger (2), Jordan Mundell, Paul Meltz, Robert Ezekiel, Andy Kanchik and Dylan Basger to secure a third straight success for Easts.

Western Wolves fell 2-4 to a pumped Parramatta Pumas at Dural Sport & Leisure Centre. Pumas were awesome and deservedly led 3-2 at the break, and they held on for an important two-goal victory, Ibrahim Kerem scoring twice as previously unbeaten Western dropped to fourth and Pumas surged up the ladder behind four unbeaten games.

Botany Bay Pirates and Sydney Futsal Club shared the points in a highly entertaining 3-3. A scoreless first period broke loose in the second as the two sides traded blow-for-blow, Christorio Leasa, Danilo Di Angelo and Luiz Lobo scoring for Botany Bay and Domenic Arcella, William Donato and Thomas Hyde countering for Sydney.

Sutherland Shire grabbed a 9-2 win over International Football School Futsal at Menai Sports Centre.

On the scorers front South Coast’s David Stojic has the most with 11, one ahead of Scott Tonkin (Sydney Futsal Club) and Callum Smith (Boomerangs). Hakoah’s Jarrod Basger has struck home nine times with Lucas Rossi (West City), Giacomo Di Mento (Sydney) and Chris Godoy Bascur (Raiders) bagging seven each, Parramatta’s Thomas Louw six.
