All four visitors won in round 11 Futsal NSW premier league as Dural dumped Mountain Majik 4-0, Inner West dropped UTS Northside 5-3, Campbelltown smacked Phoenix 7-1, and Enfield beat Mascot 8-2.

Rovers (25), Warriors (25), Quake (24) and Magic (24) continued their close-quarter stampede to the finish line, with three top-four clashes to occur over the final three weekends (two in the next round – Dural against Enfield and Inner West versus Campbelltown).

Dural Warriors drove to a methodical 4-0 win over Mountain Majik at Valentine Sports Park, a third straight victory keeping them in the premiership mix.

It definitely wasn’t easy for the three-time defending champs but goals from Greg Giovenali, Glenn Kelshaw and Bruno Pivato proved decisive, and Majik’s cause was certainly hindered by the sending off of Manuel Duarte.

Inner West had to battle for their win by a very good UTS Northside at the Sydney Academy of Sport & Recreation, Magic extending a tender 3-2 halftime edge to a hardfought 5-3 victory.

A double from Brian Griffin-Coles helped Inner West to a fifth straight win, and also a sixth road success in a row. Magic will hope for a round-12 Enfield-Dural stalemate to hopefully jump both in a new-year surge.

Campbelltown Quake demolished Phoenix Futsal Club 7-1 at Ryde Sports & Community Centre to keep up the heat on the competition frontrunners.

Phoenix were very competitive in the first half and Josh Mathie’s strike had them in the game at 2-1 down midway through, but they couldn’t contain a Quake second term burst that put them six goals to the good by fulltime – Harley Da Silva, David Von Dinklage, Shaun Irwin, Mark Symington, Damian Brosque and Danny Martinez scoring Campbelltown’s goals.

Enfield Rovers outplayed Mascot in an 8-2 victory at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre, their biggest ever margin over Vipers. Enfield settled early and made it look comfortable by the end in a six-goal win that kept them at the competition summit.

John Howard was prime minister the last time Mascot beat Enfield and the Rovers have now racked up 57 goals in 11 matches, but with massive January matches against Dural and Campbelltown to finish the regular season it’s still anybody’s game.

Next year’s games

Some great match-ups shape round 12 premier league as Campbelltown Quake host Inner West Magic at Minto Indoor Sports Centre, Mountain Majik play UTS Northside at Valentine Sports Park, Dural Warriors battle Enfield Rivers at Dural Sport & Leisure Centre, and Phoenix meet Mascot Vipers at Ryde Sports & Community Centre.

State League round 11

State league round 11 was interesting with Hakoah strengthening their tabletop fortress, but just a handful of points separates second-placed Sydney City from seventh-placed Crusaders to create a desperate scramble for the remaining playoff places.

The table shows Easts (26 points) well ahead of Eagles (21), Raiders (20), Boomerangs (18), Sutherland (18), Wolves (16), Crusaders (14).

Leaders Eastern Suburbs Hakoah flexed their muscle in a 6-0 defeat of Boomerangs at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre. It was only 1-0 at the break by Easts powered home to make a convincing claim for the premiership, now five points ahead of Sydney City with just two rounds left to play.

Raiders and Botany Bay Pirates fought out an epic 5-5 draw at Whitlam Leisure Centre, Pirates in front 4-3 at the interval but Raiders finding enough to grab a share of the spoils with Chris Godoy Bascur netting twice for the home side and Gerson Oliveira leading the Baysiders with a double-strike.

Sydney Futsal Club did very well to pip Western Wolves 6-5 at Marrickville PCYC. Sydney led 3-1 at halftime and a brilliant Valentin Broehl hat-trick was enough to keep the prowling Wolves at bay, Evan Daglis bagging a brace for Western.

Sydney City Eagles did it tough against Parramatta Pumas winning both halves 2-1 to register a 4-2 victory at Dural Sport & Leisure Centre, South Coast Taipans tackled International Football School Futsal at University of Wollongong Sports Hub, West City Crusaders played Mount Druitt Town Rangers at Hawkesbury Indoor Sports Stadium, and Sutherland Shire had the bye.
