The self-confessed ‘Brady Bunch Family’ are a popular group at Condell Park FC, a true family and community club.
The family of 7 is heavily involved in the club and have the Magpie club in their blood.
Mother Jennifer is the club secretary but also dons the boots, competing in the all age women’s. Father Dan is the Junior Vice President, while sons Bailey 12, Caleb 9, Kristian 7 and Thomas 5 all play for the Black and Whites. The youngest member of the family Brianna 2, is just a mascot at the moment but a fierce Magpie in training.
Jennifer has been in the committee for the last three years while Dan first pulled on a Magpies jersey way back in 1981.
The Magpies have a range of family ties within the club and are hoping to boost their registration numbers for the new season to add to their group.
We belong to a long standing, community based family club and we are keen to boost our numbers this season,” Jenifer said.
“This year we need our small club to grow in size. We had just 8 teams last year (both junior and senior) and we urgently need new players.”
The Magpies have a rich history and are one of the oldest clubs in the region.
“Our club was established in 1951 making us one of the oldest clubs in the region, but without the ongoing support of players and the local community we would have to close our doors.”
Jennifer says the club would love to add another female team to their list of competing sides.
“We would love to see the inclusion of another ladies team to our club. I played last season with our all age ladies and we just missed the semi finals. As a club we would like to see more women/girls in the sport – as well as improve our clubs name throughout the community.”
