The PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 2 Preseason Cup round three was played over the weekend.
POOL 1 –
Macarthur Rams FC 1-1 Mt Druitt Town Rangers
At Lynwood Park on Sunday afternoon, the Macarthur Rams hosted the Mt Druitt Town Rangers.
Neither side could find a winner in this one with the score finishing at 1-1. Mark Symington scored the home sides goal while Kojiro Hori scored the Rangers’ goal.
Mounties Wanderers 1-0 Bankstown Berries
Cook Park was the venue for Sunday nights clash between Mounties Wanderers’ and Bankstown Berries.
The Wanderers’ remain the only side in the whole Preseason Cup yet to concede a goal as they kept another clean sheet. They also hit the top of the ladder courtesy of a Daine Merrin goal that gave them a 1-0 victory.
Bankstown City 3-1 St George
At Jensen Park on Sunday night, Bankstown City welcomed St George in a match where both teams needed three points.
Bankstown scored their first win of the season in this one, coming away with a 3-1 victory. Huseyin Jasli with a brace and Chris Gomez with the other were enough for the home sides win.
POOL 2 –
Northern Tigers 3-1 Hakoah Sydney City East
At Charlie Bean Sportsground on Friday night, the Northern Tigers hosted Hakoah Sydney City East.
Hakoah were in search of their first win of the year but a gritty Tigers outfit ensured they’d have to wait at least a week longer as the home side came away with a 3-1 win.
Liam McConaghy scored a double for the home team while Matthew West picked up the other.
Central Coast 0-2 Spirit FC
Budgewoi Soccer Ground was the venue for Sunday night’s game as the Central Coast hosted Spirit FC.
Two goals for the away side were enough for them to come away from the Coast with a 2-0 win, meanwhile staying in equal top spot with the Tigers.
Fraser Park 2-1 Sydney University
Arlington Oval hosted Fraser Park and Sydney University on Sunday night as both teams were in search of their first win of the year.
Fraser Park went into the break a goal up in this tight affair, coming away with a 2-1 victory at full time.
