Football NSW donates to ‘Kick for Africa’ Charity
Football NSW donated over 400 items of Footballing equipment to the Kick for Africa charity.
As many as 140 footballs, 150 Football jerseys, 60 pairs of Football shorts and over 100 items of a football nature were kindly donated to the worldly charity.
Sian Davies, founder of Kick for Africa, was elated at the donation made by Football NSW.
“Football NSW’s donations are fantastic, the children, adults and teams in South Africa are going to be absolutely shocked and so incredibly happy.
“To borrow Kick for Africa’s slogan Football NSW has shared the love and will most definitely create a lot of smiles.”
Football NSW’s Community Development Officer Robert Fitzgerald was delighted with the donation set to spread the game of football as well as Football NSW around the world.
“Football NSW is pleased to be able to directly assist Kick for Africa.
“With all donated material collected by Kick for Africa to be distributed throughout South Africa, this will look towards providing less advantaged individuals and communities with an opportunity to become involved in the world game.”
Kick for Africa’s mission is well on its way with great support already shown by various members of the footballing community.
“At this point in time we have successfully collected over four thousand items of second hand, pre-loved soccer gear from friends, family, local football clubs in the Nepean District, clubs from Sutherland and Pittwater, including Hyundai A-League teams Western Sydney Wanderers and Central Coast Mariners and also a number of items from Football Federation Australia,” Davies added.
Kick for Africa is an initiative that provides opportunity to individuals of impoverished townships by providing soccer gear in many forms, to allow them the chance to perform, to experiment and to dream of their future.
To provide hope and awareness within communities so they know that they are not alone in this world, that there is always a way to find your passion, and to live your dreams
There is still a need for additional donations of all varieties to the Kick for Africa initiative.
