Round 6 of the Westfield FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds threw up some massive score lines and one surprise result while the three remaining Association sides were bundled out.

At Lily’s Football Centre, State League 1 side Nepean FC held Blacktown City for a whole nine seconds before the floodgates opened, adding another seven goals before half time. Nepean did grab one in the first half and some header it was by Kodai Hayashi who gave Nenad Vekic in the City goal no chance.

The State League 1 outfit were missing their mentor Jason Breton on the sideline and it was evident but it was no excuse as the PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 1 side added another four in the second half for a comprehensive 12-1 win.

Joey Gibbs helped himself to four goals, returnee Travis Major scored a hat-trick, Patrick Antelmi picked up a brace while Daniel Araujo, Danny Choi and Chris Tomaras got the others.

The South Coast Wolves had a great night out West as they smashed 10 passed Bankstown Association side Yagoona Lions at Jensen Park.

Lions coach Goran Kocev couldn’t do anything as a rampant Wolves took a 4-1 lead into the break scoring goals through Jordan Murray who got two, Chris Price and Brendan Griffin.

The superior PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 1 team added another six in the second half as Bradley Welch scored a hat-trick, Peter Simonoski added two and Shannon Fielding got the other.

In an all PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 1 clash, it was Sydney Olympic that progressed as they defeated Manly United 2-1.

Harris Gaitatzis showed he’s in some form, putting the away side in front after only 15 minutes on the clock. Another man that’s been hitting his straps is Daniel Bragg, sporting the Andrea Pirlo beard, and he found Manly’s equaliser in the 38th minute.

Japanese import Go Shirai has been on fire in 2015 and the goal scoring machine put the visitors back into the lead minutes before half time.

Despite Paul Dee’s men throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the Blues, the Northern Beaches sides Cup run came to an end.

State League 1 side Prospect United welcomed Association side Kenthurst and Districts FC to Christie Park in the late match on Wednesday evening.

In a squad boasting the likes of Luke Roodenburg, Adam Biddle and Matthew Pressello, Prospect was pushed all the way, coming away with a tight 3-2 victory, ending Kenthurst’s great Cup run.

In the biggest shock of the night, PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 2 side Bankstown City’s Cup run ended at the hands of Men’s State League 1 outfit Balmain Tigers.

The Tigers ran rampant and stung their highly fancied opponents 3-1 which sent Joe Di Gulio’s men into raptures.

Two teams that are struggling in their respective leagues did battle at Lambert Park on Wednesday night as Sydney University welcomed Rockdale City Suns.

The Suns showed a greater will for victory in this one and progressed to round seven with a 2-0 win. Alec Urosevski opened the scoring for the black and red’s while Marko Jesic confirmed the points from the spot, giving the new coaching trio of Paul Reid, John Calleja and Matt Ribarovski their first win since taking over from Branko Culina’s departure.

At Seymour Shaw, Illawarra Premier League outfit Wollongong United travelled to the Shire to face the Sutherland Sharks.

The Sharks confirmed their spot in round seven and a date with rivals Rockdale City Suns as they comfortably defeated United 4-1. Steve O’Connor’s team is hitting a great run of form and is now only one step away from the Westfield FFA Cup.

It was a dramatic match at Mills Park in the all NPL 2 matchup between the Northern Tigers and Macarthur Rams.

The Tigers prevailed in an epic penalty shootout running out 5-4 victors after a winner couldn’t be decided after 120 minutes of football as the match ended 1-1.

There will be two matches on Wednesday 6th May that will close out the round with Men’s State League 1 side North Shore Mariners entertaining PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 1 heavy hitters Sydney United 58 while it will be an all Men’s State League 1 affair when Hawkesbury City clash with the Western NSW Mariners.
