Wagga United FC have been recognised as the inaugural IGA Club of the Month for 2015 for their successes across a number of areas of football. IGA have thrown their support behind this wonderful initiative, designed to celebrate and reward the fantastic volunteers associated with running grassroots clubs.

Wagga United FC have had a fantastic start to the 2015 season reaching maximum registrations and have stated that these numbers will continue to increase in 2016. The club have assisted in the continual development and support of disability football via the Wagga Footbal4all program. The Wagga Football4all program is now in its second year and is set to build upon its successful inaugural season. The program is designed to allow individuals with special needs the opportunity to participate in the world game, in a safe, supportive and fun environment. This support was echoed by Wagga Wagga Football4all Coordinator Michael Standley. “The Wagga Wagga Football4all program would have not been possible without the support and continued support of the Football Wagga Committee, Wagga United Football Club, Football NSW and the Wagga Community.”

The club has also reached out to the Indigenous community by further developing indigenous participation in the Wagga Wagga area. Football NSW identified Wagga United Football Club as the recipients of an Indigenous Partnership Assistance Program. The Indigenous Assistance Program is designed to assist clubs and indigenous players to participate in Football Activities, through the provision of equipment, coach education and subsidised registrations. Wagga United President Peter Ellicott welcomed the idea of supporting the local indigenous community. “Thank you for this opportunity, this is a wonderful opportunity for Wagga United to assist the local indigenous community to get involved with this fantastic sport.”

Football NSW would like to acknowledge the efforts of everyone involved at Wagga United FC for their amazing achievements and thanks to IGA, Wagga United FC will receive a $500 gift voucher.
