Sport and Recreation will again be hosting a Girls Football (Soccer) Development Clinic in partnership with W-League players during the upcoming Spring school holidays.

The clinic will be held at various locations for girls aged 8-15 years. Coaches at the clinics will be current players from the W-League.

The two day development clinics are mainly targeted at girls who are already playing football and would like to enhance their skills for the upcoming winter season. Newcomers are also encouraged to attend.

“These clinics give young female players a chance to build on the essential skills of football,” said Mr Miguel Andrade from Sport and Recreation’s Central Region.

“Not only will participants be given the opportunity to improve technique and gain an edge on the competition but they will learn the latest tips from some of the best female players in the country.

“After the continued success of the W-League competition this clinic provides great motivation for girls to pursue football.

“The coaches will not only provide participants with emerging tricks and tactics, but they inspire young players to stay involved in the sport,” said Mr Andrade.
