Futsal NSW Premier League round three Saturday night action pits UTS Northside against Campbelltown, Mountain Majik face Enfield, Dural play South Coast, and Mascot challenge Inner West.

UTS Northside v Campbelltown Quake

Sydney Academy of Sport & Recreation 7.30pm Saturday 7 November

A revived UTS Northside tackle Campbelltown Quake at the Sydney Academy of Sport & Recreation (7.30pm). Both sides put opening losses behind them to put in much-improved performances on the weekend, Campbelltown shaking off South Coast 8-5 (4-4 at halftime) and UTS giving Inner West a real score leading 3-0 at the break only to succumb 4-3 in the dying moments of the game. They split last summer’s results, Quake winning their first encounter 6-zip with Northside returning serve in a 7-2 triumph at the venue they’re playing at this weekend.

Mountain Majik v Enfield Rovers

Valentine Sports Park 7.30pm Saturday 7 November

Mountain Majik face Enfield Rovers on neutral turf with a meeting at Valentine Sports Park (7.30pm). Majik have planned all their league games this summer and haven’t shown too much of a liking for contests outside their Mountain base winning just three of 16 away fixtures in two frustrating top-flight summers (they’ve won eight of 14 home games), and a loss this weekend sees them level Mascot’s unenviable nine straight road defeats. Enfield won’t be handing out any favours but must acknowledge Majik’s persistence – all four of their previous encounters have been decided by two goals or less, the Mountaineers winning once.

Dural Warriors v South Coast Taipans

Dural Sport & Leisure Centre 7.55pm Saturday 7 November

Dural Warriors play South Coast Taipans in an intriguing match-up at Dural Sport & Leisure Centre (7.55pm). The champs are firing well and may remember a 12-1 pasting of South Coast back in 2011 (still joint highest score by a premier league outfit and biggest winning margin; they also beat Majik 12-1 last summer), but they mightn’t want to recall a Taipans 3-3 response in the return bout that cost Warriors that season’s premiership (Enfield pipping them by a point). With the Coasters giving Quake a run for their money last weekend, this will be interesting to watch.

Mascot Vipers v Inner West Magic

All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre 8.20pm Saturday 7 November

Mascot Vipers host Inner West Magic in a classic showdown at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre (8.20pm). Unbeaten after two rounds both clubs have demonstrated early season intentions and share a rivalry extending to the break of dawn itself – the very first season of summer premier league (2008/09). Online record keeping was in its infancy back then but they’ve certainly given each other hell in the last four summers, Inner West winning five of eight engagements (Mascot once, in 2012), but two 3-3 draws and two 4-3 Magic victories in the past five meetings shows a real Vipers stubbornness.
