Dural Warriors v Inner West Magic
Dural Sport & Leisure Centre 7.55pm Saturday 14 November
Dural Warriors face Inner West Magic in a top-two battle at Dural Sport & Leisure Centre. There’s almost not enough paper to record all the history between these state Futsal giants. While Dural have enjoyed an open and youth men dominance, Inner West are undisputed indoor kings in terms of club championships, claiming up to nine crowns over the past decade. Dural have a long history on their side with nine wins in their past 12 meetings (including last season’s grand final shootout win) BUT they also haven’t beaten Magic in regular time since early 2014 (two 1-1 draws and an Inner West 5-1 win last summer), and the biggest margin between the sides has been four goals – expect a tight one!
Campbelltown Quake v Mascot Vipers
Minto Indoor Sports Centre 7pm Saturday 14 November
Campbelltown Quake welcome Mascot Vipers to Minto Indoor Sports Centre with a top-four spot on the line. Two wins each have the sides level-pegged heading into the clash and it’s a renewed Mascot that’ll hope to buck a five-game Campbelltown winning streak in a rivalry that stretches back to the 2008 Winter Super League. Quake haven’t lost to Vipers at Minto and even enjoyed a 10-2 pasting there in early 2014, but these are different days with Mascot showing greater coherence – this will be a great game to witness.
Enfield Rovers v UTS Northside
Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre 8.05pm Saturday 14 November
Enfield Rovers tackle UTS Northside in an intriguing match-up at Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre. Enfield will again be a force this summer and chalked up win number two against Mountain Majik last week 5-1 to maintain the rage, while Northside have suffered back-to-back 4-3 losses (to Magic and Quake) to also show strong credentials. Rovers will also recall a cheeky UTS almost pulling their pants down in last summer’s opening round, Northside’s first ever premier league game ending in a nailbiting 5-4 loss, a follow-up 5-1 Enfield win later in the season actually sparking a UTS run of four wins in five games.
Mountain Majik v South Coast Taipans
Valentine Sports Park 8.20pm Saturday 14 November
Mountain Majik play South Coast Taipans at Valentine Sports Park in the first ever premier league meeting between the clubs. Majik’s 2013 emergence followed a Taipans 2012 demotion, but South Coast are back and willing to stay in the top flight. The Mountain men are certainly on the back-foot following nine straight league losses, and they’ll play the entire season away from their lair, but Taipans aren’t faring much better with six successive losses dating back to November 2011. Both sides have shown competitiveness, but perhaps only one will gain confidence from this encounter.
