The 2015 NSW Sports Award Finalists were officially announced as Football NSW’s Football4All Gala Day and the NSW Powerchair team were amongst the nominees with the event taking place on Thursday 18th of February 2016 at Curzon Hall.

In the category for ‘Inclusion/Diversity Award’, Football NSW’s Football4All Gala Day won itself the right to contest with four other candidates including nominees from Netball NSW, Cricket NSW, PCYC NSW and Rugby Union NSW.

Football4All was established in 2008 to further develop the special needs football programs of Football NSW and create a support network for volunteers, coaches, parents and players involved in special needs football.

In 2015, there are now 23 individual Football4All club programs operating within Football NSW which offer the opportunity for players to enjoy participation in a fun, safe and less competitive football environment.

The Football4All Gala Day provides a unique opportunity for players from all of our Football4All programs and invited groups to come together and enjoy a day of football, fun and festivities with family and friends.

While the victorious NSW Powerchair Football team, fresh from being crowned the 2015 Australian National Powerchair Football Champions after defeating Queensland 4-3 on penalties, has also been nominated on the ‘Team with Disability’ award.

2015 George Churchward Award winner, Sutherland’s Bill McIveen, will also be honoured further after giving over 43 years of service to the round ball game.
