Cookbundoon Sporting Complex in Goulburn will play host to its fifth SAP Regional Gala Day this Sunday, February 28th which is expected to attract a number of promising young footballers from around the regional branches and zones.

The Gala Day is an opportunity for regional branches and zones with Skill Acquisition Programs to come together and play some non-competitive games over the day.

In 2016, Southern Branch FC and Western NSW Mariners FC will compete in representing their branches while Far South Coast, Griffith, Lachlan United and Wagga Wagga will represent their associations.

All teams will play at least three games throughout the day with development and enjoyment the key drivers for the football environment.

In addition to the SAP games, the Southern Branch FC and Western NSW Mariners FC National Premier League Youth 2 and Women’s teams will also play friendly pre-season games.

Western NSW Coaching and Development Manager Andrew Fearnley was looking forward to what he stated would be a fantastic day for football amongst the regional branch and zone fraternity.

“This event has been one of the standout dates in our busy football calendar for the last four years.

“Speaking to so many clubs, coaches, players and parents, this Sunday will be a day that every participant will enjoy healthy competition against regional teams whilst playing small sided football matches.”

The Gala Day is hosted by the Southern Tablelands Association with the support of Football NSW.
