Nepean Football Association’s Penrith FC will be one of the first clubs in NSW to pilot the MiniRoos Kick-Off Toddler program for children aged 3 – 5 years of age this winter season starting on Saturday 2nd April 2016.
The club has been inundated with parent request to service siblings that are under age that are not yet able to play for the club in the winter season.
The clubs committee believe the future of the club is within the younger grassroots kids and providing them with a positive environment to experience football will ensure they continue to be a part of the club in the future as they grow older.
The AIA Vitality MiniRoos Kick-Off Toddler Program uses short, game-based sessions to introduce the sport of football to newcomers in a fun and inclusive way.
This type of environment teaches the fundamentals of football in a fun, engaging, and inclusive environment that focuses on enjoyment.
The club is not concerned with finding the next superstar, but rather provide opportunities that will create fans of the game going forward.
The 10-week program will be conducted in house by the clubs parents and volunteers, which is being used as a great opportunity for the coaches to become upskilled and gain experience coaching children in football.
