PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s outfit North West Sydney Koalas have set the date for the 2016 Pull on your socks benefit day in aid of the McGrath Foundation for Sunday May 22nd.
Originally an initiative of Koalas player Ellyse Perry who is a McGrath Foundation Ambassador; the event became part of the Koalas annual calendar gathering momentum with the support of the Koalas community and club sponsors.
Football NSW CEO Eddie Moore praised the efforts and commitment of the NWS Koalas club with this initiative in supporting such a good cause.
“Well done to the NWS Koalas on organising this event to help aid and support the fight against Breast cancer via the McGrath Foundation.
“It will surely be a great day for every participant involved as I am sure it will be an on-going event year upon year.”
The McGrath Foundation is a breast cancer support and education charity which raises money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia and provides education to increase breast awareness with a particular emphasis on young women.
All players will be asked to purchase McGrath Foundation Pink Socks as part of the game day kit and all donations from the sale of the socks will go to the McGrath Foundation.
All supporters will be encouraged to dress in pink to show support and visitors will be encouraged to donate to the cause.
As well as some great football there will be activities and giveaways throughout the day.
Koalas will be hosting the North Shore Mariners so some great football is also guaranteed.
The event will kick-off with the under 13’s game at 8.30am with games in all grades throughout the day. The Koalas first grade kick off at 3pm.
Football NSW is also throwing its support behind the McGrath Foundation.
