Football NSW ready for Southern Regional Roadshow

Spreading the gospel according to Football will be on the agenda next Monday 9th of May as Football NSW will be staging a one-week Southern Regional Roadshow.

Football NSW Coach Education Manager Oscar Gonzalez along with former Matildas and current Development Officer for Women’s Football and Schools Renee Rollason as well as another former Matilda and current Women’s & Girls Development Officer Servet Uzunlar will be leading the way with various club and school appearances preaching the world game to players and coaches alike.

The roadshow will also play a pivotal role in further educating teachers and parents about the coaching aspects of the game.

Gonzalez was eagerly anticipating the Regional Roadshow which was yet another opportunity for football to spread its wings in the Southern part of NSW.

"The roadshow is key to us working with our regional Associations with the aim of developing football partnerships in schools and to assist teachers to provide better outcomes for students as well educating our coaches and parents through courses and workshops. 

“In addition, it also provides a key opportunity to work with our Coach Developers to ensure we maintain the highest standards of delivery and experience to our members.”

The trip will see the trio visit the Southern Highlands on Monday as they visit the Hilltop Public School before putting on an AIA Vitality MiniRoos Activation session at the Mittagong Soccer Club. There will also be a special Coach Education Skill Acquisition evening at the Moss Vale Soccer Club concluding what will be an action packed first day.

Day two will see Shoalhaven hit by Football fever with the Shoalhaven Heads Public School getting a dose of skills and drills before a training session is staged at the Shoalhaven Heads Academy for the 5-12 year olds at the Vic Zealand Oval. Yet another Coach Education Session will be put on that evening.

Day three and the gang will travel to Eurobodalla and will take charge of a training session for various Eurobodalla representative squads at Gundary Oval before taking charge of a Coach Education session.

The Far South Coast will be on the agenda for Day four of the Southern Roadshow as Merimbula Public School will be the centre of attention before an AIA Vitality MiniRoos/SAP session is then hosted at the Berrambool Sporting Complex followed by a Coach Education session for the Grassroots Expo that evening.

Friday and the final day of the Southern Regional Roadshow will see the Southern Tablelands take part in football festivities with an AIA Vitality MiniRoos/SAP session take shape at the Cookbundoon Sports Field before ending up with a final Coaching Education Session Grassroots Course.
